AdBatch

About

A small tool from a small studio

AdBatch is made by Agent Creative, a web studio in Connecticut. We build websites for small businesses, and we kept running into the same gap.

Why it exists

A shop gets a new product. Someone takes a decent photo of it. Then the photo has to become a square post, a story, a link ad and a marketplace image, each with a headline that fits, in the shop’s colors. That is an afternoon in a design program for someone who would rather be packing orders.

Most of that afternoon is not creative work. It is resizing, nudging text until it fits, and checking that white type can still be read on a light photo. Those are rules, and rules can be written down. AdBatch is those rules, written down carefully.

How it is built

The layouts are real drawing code, not templates with boxes to fill. For each ad the engine measures the words, finds the largest size that fits, wraps the lines so they balance, and checks every block of text against the color underneath it. When something does not fit, it leaves out the least important line instead of shrinking everything.

The copywriter is a set of eleven ad formulas and four tones. It fills them from what you typed and skips any formula it has no fact for. It is fast, it is predictable, and it cannot make things up.

Almost all of this runs in your browser. Your photo is opened, resized and cut out on your own device, and the files you download are drawn there too. The server keeps accounts, saved projects and the export count.

AdBatch is a WordPress plugin with this site around it, so it can run on a shop’s own hosting. The preview you may be reading this on is the same tool with accounts and saved projects kept in your browser.
