Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Agent Creative for using ReleaseKit. Effective September 30, 2026.
1Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Agent Creative (“we”), the operator of ReleaseKit (“the service”). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2What the service does
ReleaseKit helps you promote a music release. From a song and cover art that you provide, it makes an audio-reactive visualizer, video clips, announcement graphics, captions and a public release page with links. Most of this work happens in your own browser. The service does not distribute music to streaming platforms, does not post to social networks for you, and does not promise any number of streams, followers or sales.
3Your account
You can try the tool without an account. You need one to save a release, record a clip, download graphics or buy credits. Give a real email address, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to enter a contract where you live or have a parent or guardian's permission.
4Your music and artwork
You keep all rights in your songs, cover art, names and text. You promise that you own them or have permission to use them, including any samples, artwork and fonts inside them, and that using them in the service does not break the law or anyone else's rights.
Your song stays on your device. When you publish a release page, you give us permission to store and publicly show the cover image and the audio preview of up to 30 seconds for that page, for as long as the page is published. That permission ends when you unpublish or delete the release.
The example release that opens with the tool (“Afterglow” by “Violet Static”) was generated in code by us. It is there to show how the tool works and is not licensed for your own releases.
5What you make with it
The clips, graphics, captions and pages you make are yours to use, including commercially. Clips and graphics from a free release carry a small ReleaseKit mark; unlocked releases do not. You are responsible for following the rules of any platform you post to.
6Credits and payment
ReleaseKit has no subscription. A free release is limited as described on the Pricing page. Credits are sold in packs at the prices shown there at the time you buy, and each credit unlocks one release. Payments are handled by Stripe; prices are in US dollars and any taxes that apply are added at checkout.
A credit that has not been used stays in your account. Once a credit has been used to unlock a release it is not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. If an unlocked release does not work as this site describes, write to us through the Contact page and we will fix the problem or refund that credit.
We may change prices for future purchases. Changes do not affect credits you already hold.
7Release pages and email sign-ups
You are the publisher of your release page. Do not use it for unlawful, hateful, deceptive or infringing content, and do not point its buttons at harmful sites. If you switch on the “Notify me” box, the people who sign up have given their address to you to hear about that release. You are responsible for using their addresses lawfully, which includes honoring requests to stop and following the email and privacy laws that apply to you.
The view, click and sign-up counts are provided as a guide. They are counted in good faith but are not audited figures.
8Fair use of the service
- Do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service.
- Do not use it to upload files that are not what they claim to be, or content you have no right to use.
- Do not use automated means to create accounts, publish pages or submit sign-ups.
- Do not resell the service itself. Making promo for artists you work with is fine.
We may remove a release page or suspend an account that breaks these terms or the law. Where it is reasonable we will tell you first and give you the chance to fix it.
9Copyright complaints
If you believe something on a release page infringes your copyright, send us a notice through the Contact page with the address of the page, what you own, and how to reach you. We will remove infringing material and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
10Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. Recording video depends on your browser and device; the tool tells you the file type and quality before you download. We may change or retire features. If we close the service we will give account holders reasonable notice so that release pages can be downloaded as HTML files, and we will refund unused credits.
11Disclaimers and limits
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if that is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited by law.
12Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what is stored and what stays on your device. It is part of these terms.
13Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, unless the consumer protection law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim at home.
14Changes and contact
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and we will tell account holders by email about changes that matter. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new terms. Questions go through the Contact page.
