Do I need a card to start?

No. Open the builder and use it. You are asked for an email and a password only when you save your first quote, and the Free plan never asks for a card.

What counts as one of my 3 free quotes?

Each new quote you save in a calendar month counts once. Editing or re-sending a saved quote does not use another one. Duplicating a quote makes a new quote, so that one counts. The count starts again each month.

What happens if I go back to Free?

Your saved quotes, signed records and customer links stay. You go back to 3 new quotes a month, and the Pro and Crew features switch off until you upgrade again.

Does QuoteKit take a cut of my jobs?

No. QuoteKit does not collect money from your customers at all. You pay the monthly price of your plan and that is it.
