1Who we are
LocalMatch is a marketplace for one service in one state: mobile car detailing in Connecticut. It is operated by Agent Creative, a web studio in Connecticut (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the site and the LocalMatch tool collect, who can see it, and what you can ask us to do with it. To reach us about anything here, use the Contact page.
2If you send a request (drivers)
You do not need an account. When you send a request we store what you typed into the form:
- the job: vehicle type and condition, service and extras, your town, where the car will be, whether water and power are available, the days you prefer, your notes, and up to three photos (they are made smaller in your browser before they are sent);
- your name, mobile number and email address;
- what happens next on that request: which detailers accepted it, their offers, the one you chose, the messages between you and that detailer, whether the job was marked done, and your rating and comment if you leave one.
We use this to show the job to detailers who cover your town, to email you your private link and updates, and to run the request from start to finish.
3Who sees your contact details, and when
This is the rule the marketplace is built around.
- Before a detailer accepts your request they see the job, your town, your notes and your photos. They do not receive your name, phone number, email address or your private link. Phone numbers, email addresses, links and social handles typed into the notes are replaced with “[hidden until you accept]”.
- When a detailer accepts (at most 3 can), that detailer receives your name, phone number and email address so they can send you a price.
- When you choose a detailer, you see their phone number and the two of you can message each other on the request.
- Ratings appear on the detailer’s public profile under “Verified jobs”, signed with your town (“A customer in Westport”). Your name is not shown unless the site is set to show first names, in which case the rating form tells you so before you post.
These limits are enforced on the server. Anything you type into the free-text notes other than phone numbers, emails, links and handles is shown to detailers as written, so do not put your name or address there.
4If you list a business (detailers)
Detailers create an account. We store your name, email address and a scrambled (hashed) password; your profile (business name, logo or photo, description, phone, website, years in business, whether you are insured, the towns you cover, the services you offer and your starting prices); the leads you accepted or passed; your offers and messages; your credit balance and its history; and your plan. Approved profiles are public in the directory. Your phone and website are shown on the public profile only if the site is set to show them; otherwise a customer sees your phone once they choose you.
5Payments
Only detailers pay LocalMatch, for credit packs or the Territory plan. Payment is taken by Stripe on Stripe’s own checkout page. We never see or store card numbers. Stripe tells us that a payment succeeded, which item was bought and a customer reference, and we record the credits or plan on your account. Stripe’s use of your data is covered by its own privacy policy.
6Email
We email you about your own request or your own leads: request received, a detailer accepted, an offer arrived, you were chosen, a message, job done, a rating, a profile decision. We do not send marketing email and we do not sell or rent contact details to anyone.
8Other services the site talks to
- OpenStreetMap. The directory map loads its map pictures from OpenStreetMap’s servers, so your browser’s address is visible to them when you open the map.
- Stripe, for detailer payments, as described above.
- AI drafting (optional). If the site owner has switched on the optional “Write a draft for me” polish for detailers, the text of a job a detailer has already accepted (service, town, the customer’s first name and notes) and the detailer’s draft are sent to an AI provider through OpenRouter to rewrite the message. If it is switched off, drafts are written in the detailer’s browser and nothing is sent.
- Hosting. The site runs on a web server that keeps ordinary access logs (address, time, page) for security.
Fonts and scripts are served from this site, not from other companies.
9How long we keep things
A request stays open for 14 days unless you choose a detailer or cancel sooner. Requests, offers, messages and ratings are then kept as the record of what was agreed, and so that ratings stay attached to real jobs. Detailer accounts and their credit history are kept while the account exists. Messages sent through the contact form are kept so we can reply. Ask us to delete any of it and we will, except where we have to keep a payment record.
10Your choices
You can cancel an open request from its private page. Detailers can edit their profile at any time. Through the Contact page you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your request, rating, account or photos. We answer requests from Connecticut residents under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act in the same way, and we do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.
11Children
LocalMatch is for adults arranging a service for a vehicle. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
12Security
Passwords are stored hashed. Contact details are released by the server only under the rules above, and that rule has its own automated tests. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will tell you.
13Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top and, where the change matters, say so on the site. This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
