Describe the job once

Five short steps: the car, the service, your town, a few photos if you like, and how to reach you. A typical price range updates as you go, so the offers that follow make sense.

  • No account and no card
  • Every one of Connecticut’s 169 towns
  • The range is a guide, not a quote

2 Detailer

Detailers who cover your town see it

The job goes to mobile detailers who cover your town and offer that service. They see the car, the work, your notes and your photos. They do not see who you are.

  • Your name, phone and email stay locked
  • At most 3 detailers can unlock them, by accepting
  • Enforced on the server, not just hidden on screen

Offers come to you

Each detailer who accepts sends a price, the earliest day they can come and a short note. They arrive on your private page, cheapest first. No ringing round.

  • A private link, also emailed to you
  • Each offer shows the detailer’s profile and badges
  • Cancel any time before you choose

You pick one

Choose the offer you like. You get that detailer’s number and a message thread, and the others are told the job is filled. Afterward you can rate the job.

  • You pay the detailer directly
  • Only customers who booked here can rate

The rule the whole thing is built on

Your number stays yours until a detailer commits

You know the usual pattern: ask for one quote, then field calls for a week. LocalMatch is built the other way round. A detailer has to accept your job before they learn who you are, and only 3 can.

  • Before acceptingA detailer sees the car, the work, the town, your notes and photos. Phone numbers and emails typed into the notes are blanked out too.
  • After acceptingThat detailer, and only that detailer, gets your name, phone and email so they can send a price.
  • Checked by testsThe rule lives on the server and has its own automated tests that try to break it.

All 169 towns are in the town picker. Detailers choose the towns they cover, so your town decides who sees your request.

New on the shoreline

No big numbers to show you yet, and we will not invent any

LocalMatch is a new marketplace. You will not find a count of detailers, jobs or five-star reviews on this site, because they would be made up.

Until the first real detailers are approved, the directory shows a few profiles marked Sample listing so you can see how it looks. They are not real businesses, they have no ratings, and they cannot receive your request.

You can still send a request today. It stays open for 14 days and reaches a detailer the moment one starts covering your town.

Good questions

Asked before the first request

All questions

What does LocalMatch cost me as a driver?

Nothing. Sending a request, comparing offers, choosing a detailer and leaving a rating are all free, and there is no account to create. You pay the detailer you choose, directly, for the work.

Who sees my name, phone number and email?

Only detailers who accept your request, and at most 3 can. Before a detailer accepts, they see the job (town, vehicle, service, dates, notes and photos) with your name and contact details locked. That rule is enforced on the server, not just hidden on the screen.

Can I trust the ratings?

Ratings can only be left from the private page of a request that was booked through LocalMatch, after the job is marked done. They appear on the detailer’s profile under “Verified jobs”. There is no way to rate a detailer you did not book here.

Why does the directory say “Sample listing”?

LocalMatch is new. While no real detailer has been approved yet, the directory shows a handful of listings marked “Sample listing” so you can see how profiles look. They are not real businesses, have no ratings and cannot receive requests. They disappear when the first real detailer is approved.
