Terms of service
The agreement for using EdgeBoard: what it is, what it is not, how Pro is billed and which law applies.
These terms are an agreement between you and Agent Creative, a web studio in Connecticut that operates EdgeBoard (“we”, “us”). By using the site or the tool you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use EdgeBoard.
What EdgeBoard is
EdgeBoard publishes win probabilities for professional sports games, computed by a ratings model from past scores, together with the reasons behind each number and a record of how published predictions turned out. It is an information and entertainment service.
Not betting advice
EdgeBoard publishes model probabilities for information and entertainment. It is not betting advice and no outcome is guaranteed. If you choose to bet, set limits. Problem gambling help: 1-800-GAMBLER. 21+.
The probabilities are the output of a simple model that does not know about injuries, trades, lineups or weather. They are not recommendations, and nothing on the site is an offer or an invitation to place a bet. You alone are responsible for anything you do with the numbers and for following the law where you live.
Who may use it
You must be at least 21 years old to create an account. You agree to give a working email address and to keep your password to yourself. One account is for one person.
Free and Pro
The Free plan costs nothing. Pro costs $15/mo, billed monthly in advance through Stripe, and renews each month until it is canceled. To cancel, send a request through the Contact page; the subscription is stopped before the next renewal and the plan returns to Free when it ends. Payments already made for a month in progress are not refunded, except where the law requires it or where the service was not provided.
We may change the price of Pro for future months. Subscribers are told by email at least 30 days before a change, and can cancel before it takes effect.
The published record
Predictions published before a game are kept unchanged. We do our best to record results correctly from the leagues’ public data, but schedules move and data feeds contain mistakes. If you believe a result or a prediction is recorded wrongly, tell us through the Contact page. A correction to a result is made in the open; a published probability is never altered.
Acceptable use
- Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
- Do not collect the data with automated tools at a rate that burdens the service. Pro includes a CSV download for exactly that purpose.
- Do not resell access to your account or republish EdgeBoard’s record as your own.
- Do not present EdgeBoard’s numbers as betting advice or as a guarantee of any result.
Ownership
The site, the software and the published record belong to Agent Creative. Team and league names are used only as plain text to identify games and belong to their owners. EdgeBoard is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league or team, or by the providers of the game data.
You may quote individual probabilities and results with a credit to EdgeBoard. Pro members may use their CSV downloads for their own analysis.
No warranty
EdgeBoard is provided as it is. We do not promise that the probabilities are accurate, that the model will perform in the future as it did in the past, that the data feeds are free of errors, or that the service will always be available.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, Agent Creative is not liable for any loss arising from your use of EdgeBoard, including any loss from betting or from any decision made using the numbers. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending an account
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time through the Contact page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is to be brought in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version is posted here with a new date, and account holders are told by email when the change is material. Questions about these terms go through the Contact page.
